A Boy Scout saved Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom from a knife attack Tuesday. The attacker was about 10 feet away from the President, but the young boy about 15 years old was about 1-2 feet away and jumped to prevent the attacker from hurting Maumoon. The boy got in the way of the attacker and grabbed the knife from his hands. The attackers knife was wrapped in the countries flag. The President is not hurt and was not even touched by the knife. The Boy Scouts’ name is Jaisham. Jaisham received a hand wound and was flown to the capital of Male for treatment, he said he could not move some of his fingers. The attacker was arrested. The Maldivian is a nation of islands in the Indian Ocean southwest of Asia.
A Miami police officer was shot to death early Tuesday. Detective James Walker was found in an alley by the North Miami Beach officers responding to reports of shots being fired at about 12:30 in the morning. Police were looking for the suspect, following blood trails leading from Walkers car. He was shot with a high-powered gun. James went off-duty at 11 pm Monday. It’s unclear why he was in North Miami. Walkers death is the fourth fatal shooting of a South Florida officer in the past 6 months.
